Reconstruct Module is a KEGG MODULE mapping tool that assists genome and metagenome annotations. The input data is a single gene list annotated with KEGG Orthology (KO) identifiers or K numbers. Each line of the gene list contains the user-defined gene identifier followed by the assigned K number. The mapping is performed through the K numbers against the KEGG reference modules.

Each reference module identified by the M number is defined by a Boolean expression of K numbers, where a comma sign represents OR and a space or a plus sign (for a molecular complex) represents AND when evaluating this expression. Each space-separated unit is called a block, and this tool allows distinction of complete modules, as well as incomplete modules with only one or two blocks missing.
