概要    
胆管癌は予後が不良な、非常に悪性度の高い新生物であり、また効果的な治療法を持たない。これは２番目に多い原発性の肝臓の腫瘍であり、現在増加中で死亡率も高い。この腫瘍は、肝臓内（intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma: ICC）かまたは肝臓外（extrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma）の胆管の上皮から生じるが、どちらかというと後者の方が多い。いくつかの研究により、K-ras と p53遺伝子の過剰発現につながる変異が示されてきた。これらの遺伝子の変化は、このがんの中でもより悪性度の高い表現型と結びついている。多くの報告で、ICC では COX-2 の他、c-erbB-2 (HER-2/neu) や c-Metなど、チロシンキナーゼであるがん遺伝子の過剰発現が関係するとされている。
