Entry
EC 4.2.1.142                Enzyme
Name
5'-oxoaverantin cyclase;
OAVN cyclase;
5'-oxoaverantin hydro-lyase [(2'S,5'S)-averufin forming]
Class
Lyases;
Carbon-oxygen lyases;
Hydro-lyases
Sysname
5'-oxoaverantin hydro-lyase [(1'S,5'S)-averufin-forming]
Reaction(IUBMB)
5'-oxoaverantin = (1'S,5'S)-averufin + H2O [RN:R10475]
Reaction(KEGG)
R10475
Substrate
5'-oxoaverantin [CPD:C20502]
Product
(1'S,5'S)-averufin [CPD:C20574];
H2O [CPD:C00001]
Comment
Isolated from the aflatoxin-producing mold Aspergillus parasiticus. The enzyme also catalyses the conversion of versiconal to versicolorin B (EC 4.2.1.143, versicolorin B synthase). Involved in aflatoxin biosynthesis.
