Description
Immunoglobulin light chain (AL) amyloidosis is the most common form of systemic amyloidosis. AL amyloidosis is a disorder of plasma cells or less commonly B cells that produce misfolded immunoglobulin light chain that deposits in tissues of a variety of organs causing organ dysfunction. Commonly affected organs include the heart, kidney, liver, soft tissues, peripheral and/or autonomic nerves, and the gastrointestinal tract.
