Acting on paired donors, with incorporation or reduction of molecular oxygen;
With reduced flavin or flavoprotein as one donor, and incorporation of one atom of oxygen into the other donor
The enzyme, characterized from the bacterium Rhizobium sp. strain MTP-10005, uses FADH2 as a substrate rather than a cofactor. FADH2 is provided by a dedicated EC 188.8.131.52, flavin reductase (NADH). The enzyme participates in the degradation of gamma-resorcylate and resorcinol. cf. EC 184.108.40.206, resorcinol 4-hydroxylase (NADH), and EC 220.127.116.11, resorcinol 4-hydroxylase (NADPH).
