Oxidoreductases;
Acting on paired donors, with incorporation or reduction of molecular oxygen;
With reduced iron-sulfur protein as one donor, and incorporation of one atom of oxygen into the other donor
The enzyme, characterized from the bacterium Corynebacterium cyclohexanicum, is a cytochrome P-450 enzyme that participates in the degradation pathway of cyclohexane-1-carboxylate. The initial source of the electrons is NADH, which transfers the electrons to a specific [2Fe-2S] ferredoxin via a dedicated EC 1.18.1.3, ferredoxin---NAD+ reductase.
