Neurodevelopmental disorder with speech impairment and with or without seizures (NEDSIS) is caused by heterozygous mutations in the CACNA1I gene with a phenotypic spectrum ranging from borderline intellectual functioning to a severe neurodevelopmental disorder with epilepsy.
